NHRA Midwest Nationals approaches halfway point of playoffs

The 15th annual NAPA Auto Parts NHRA Midwest Nationals is set to take place at World Wide Technology Raceway, marking the halfway point of the six-event Countdown to the Championship playoffs.

In the Pro Stock category, points leader Greg Stanfield of Elite Motorsports aims to build on his recent victory in Rockingham to extend his 31-point lead. In the Funny Car division, four-time world champion Matt Hagan of Tony Stewart Racing enters the event as the points leader following a win at Rockingham.

Tony Stewart Racing also features Leah Pruett in the Top Fuel category, who will debut a new primary paint scheme from technical partner Pellera. The partnership involves the use of predictive modeling and algorithms to optimize traction and horsepower.
