Niš announces competition for Tesla and Pupin monuments

The City of Niš has launched an open architectural and sculptural competition to design monuments dedicated to scientists Nikola Tesla and Mihajlo Pupin. The monuments are to be located in the green area in front of the Science and Technology Park in Niš, specifically along Aleksandra Medvedeva Street.

The competition is project-based, single-stage, and anonymous. There are no predetermined limits on the height or volume of the monuments, though designers are expected to respect the existing urban space and enhance the area. Proposals may incorporate modern technologies or interactive and visual elements. The winning design must include bilingual inscriptions in both Serbian and English.

The City Administration for Local Economic Development and Investments is the client, with the Institute for Urbanism Niš conducting the process. The first prize is set at 800,000 dinars. Following the selection of the winning concept, technical documentation will be prepared by the Institute for Urbanism before construction begins.
