Niš experiences disruptions during SNS political gathering

A political gathering by the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) at King Milan Square in Niš led to significant city-wide disruptions. The event, which began at 18:00, resulted in the blockage of central areas, making it impossible to access the square by foot or vehicle.

Security measures included police advising residents near the square to lower their shutters and remain away from windows and terraces. Local institutions were affected, with schools and gymnasiums operating on shortened schedules until 15:00, and public enterprises near the square closing early. Several streets near the Delta shopping center were also closed.

During the gathering, citizens engaged in protests by banging pots and pans. While buses from across Serbia and North Macedonia were observed transporting workers to the event, no official incidents were reported by authorities.
