NIA files charge sheet in Bhubaneswar bomb blast case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a charge sheet against two individuals, Sanu (alias Rohan Ranjan Raut) and Amiya Ranjan Malik, in connection with a bomb blast in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

The charge sheet was submitted to a special NIA court in Bhubaneswar. The accused face charges under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Explosives Act, and the Explosives Substances (ES) Act. The incident occurred on January 27, 2026, in the New Azadnagar area of Sundarpada, under the jurisdiction of the Airfield Police Station.

According to investigators, four individuals were attempting to prepare bombs with criminal intent when an explosion occurred. The blast resulted in severe burns to all four individuals, two of whom subsequently died. The NIA alleges the accused were actively involved in a criminal conspiracy and the illegal procurement of explosive materials.
