Nia Long receives star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Actress Nia Long was honored with the 2,857th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the Motion Pictures category during a ceremony in Los Angeles on September 16. The event celebrated her three-decade career, which includes landmark roles in films such as ‘Boyz n the Hood’, ‘Friday’, ‘Love Jones’, and ‘The Best Man’, as well as television appearances in ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’.

Long was joined by her family, including her mother, Talita Long, and her sons, Massai and Kez. Guest speakers included rapper Snoop Dogg and producer Graham King. Snoop Dogg praised Long’s authenticity and cultural impact, noting that she has remained true to herself throughout her career. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce also declared the occasion ‘Nia Long Day’.

Long’s heritage was highlighted during the celebration, noting her Caribbean roots connecting her to Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Barbados. In her acceptance speech, she expressed deep gratitude to her mother for her support during her early years in Los Angeles.
