Holiday season trends emerge in food and retail

As the autumn season progresses, various regional and commercial trends are emerging regarding upcoming holidays. In the Hudson Valley, Newburgh Brewing Company is preparing to release its annual Angry Eggbert IPA, a 7% New England IPA brewed with spruce needles, in early November.

Retail and food trends are also shifting. Spirit Christmas is launching pop-up stores in South Jersey, specifically in Marlton and Mays Landing, to offer early holiday shopping opportunities. In the food sector, a social media discussion has highlighted the similarities between mini pumpkin pies sold at Starbucks and Trader Joe’s, with some consumers noting they appear to be produced by the same Canadian supplier.

Additionally, Butterball has released its 2026 Togetherness Report, providing insights into Thanksgiving traditions. The report notes that the average guest list consists of 10 people and identifies turkey and stuffing as the most popular meal components. The report also highlights that while 85% of hosts desire assistance with post-dinner cleanup, only 38% actively ask for help.
