Niayes Zone football competitions suspended after violent clashes

Navétanes football competitions have been suspended across the Niayes zone following violent clashes in Ndiop Sao, located in the Darou Khoudoss commune. The decision was issued by the sub-prefect of Méouane to prevent further public disorder and potential escalations.

The violence erupted during a match between ASC Sao and ASC Diamono de Balsande. Supporters engaged in physical confrontations involving stone-throwing, resulting in significant damage to both public and private property. Local authorities, including the gendarmerie brigade of Mboro, are tasked with enforcing the suspension and maintaining order in the region.
