Nibong Tebal police reclassify sewage tank body discovery as murder

Police in Nibong Tebal have reclassified the discovery of a man's body in a sewage tank as a murder investigation. The victim, who had been reported missing since September 7, was found in a sewage tank behind a terrace house in Taman Seri Bistari.

Deputy Superintendent Mohd Norazmi Abd Ghapar stated that the case was upgraded from Section 365 of the Penal Code (abduction) to Section 302 (murder) following autopsy results and investigative developments. Reports indicate the victim's hands and feet were tied when the body was discovered after a foul odor was noted coming from the residence.

Authorities are conducting a comprehensive investigation to determine the motive and identify suspects. Ten individuals, including five Myanmar nationals, were previously remanded to assist with investigations into the kidnapping and killing.
