Nicaragua participates in Green Climate Fund meeting in South Korea

Nicaragua is representing Latin America and the Caribbean at the 46th Board Meeting of the Green Climate Fund (GCF), held from October 26 to 29, 2026, in Songdo, Incheon, South Korea. The meeting, co-chaired by Leif Holmberg of Switzerland and Seyni Nafo of Mali, focuses on reviewing policies, programs, and financing proposals to support climate adaptation and mitigation in developing nations.

During the sessions, Nicaraguan representatives emphasized the necessity of securing climate financing that is accessible, predictable, and favorable to the specific needs of developing countries, particularly those most vulnerable to environmental impacts. The discussions aim to strengthen resource mobilization mechanisms to assist nations in addressing the effects of climate change.
