Nicaragua and Belarus expand cooperation with $100 million in credit

Nicaragua and Belarus are strengthening their bilateral economic and commercial ties, with credit lines between the two nations now exceeding $100 million.

Laureano Ortega Murillo, presidential advisor for investments, trade, and international cooperation, stated that these funds are being used to acquire machinery and vehicles for public services. The cooperation, which saw a relaunch in 2023 following high-level meetings in Minsk, aims to expand trade opportunities and develop infrastructure projects. Ortega Murillo noted that the relationship provides Nicaragua with potential access to the larger Eurasian Economic Union market.
