Honduran President Nasry Asfura begins official visit to Italy
Honduran President Nasry Asfura has arrived in Italy to conduct an official tour aimed at strengthening diplomatic ties, promoting trade, and attracting foreign investment. The visit includes high-level meetings with Italian President Sergio Mattarella at the Quirinal Palace and a visit to the Holy See to meet with Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, where an agreement is expected to be signed.
As part of the economic agenda, the Honduran delegation will participate in business meetings in northern Italy to showcase the country's productive capacities. In Lecco, Asfura met with executives from Fiocchi, a European ammunition manufacturer, to discuss the potential installation of a manufacturing plant in Honduras to serve both defense and civil markets in Latin America.
The delegation, which includes Foreign Minister Mireya Agüero and Secretary of State Juan Carlos García Medina, also plans to meet with representatives from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and members of the Honduran community residing in Italy.
