Nicaragua and China expand cooperation in agriculture and medicine
Nicaragua and China are expanding bilateral cooperation across several sectors, including agriculture, medicine, and education.
In Matagalpa, UNAN-Managua and the Kunming University of Science and Technology have delivered specialized equipment to the Regional University Center (CUR)-Matagalpa. This initiative, part of the 'Double Hundred Project,' aims to enhance technical training for agricultural professionals and improve technology transfer within the coffee sector.
In the medical field, a Nicaraguan delegation visited the First Teaching Hospital of the Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The visit focused on exploring cooperation in traditional and natural medicine, including acupuncture and non-pharmacological therapies. Ambassador Ramiro Cruz noted the increasing application of traditional medicine within Nicaragua.
Additionally, the Nicaraguan Ministry of Youth, in collaboration with UNICIT and the Leonel Rugama Cultural Movement, has launched an intensive four-week urban dance certification. The program is currently open to students from 15 private universities to foster artistic talent and cultural expression.
