Nicaragua and China strengthen security cooperation in Lianyungang
A delegation from the Nicaraguan National Police, led by First Commissioner General Francisco Javier Díaz Madriz, is participating in the 2026 Global Public Security Cooperation Forum in Lianyungang, China. The forum, held from September 8 to 10, focuses on advancing public security governance to provide stability in a turbulent world.
During the event, Díaz Madriz met with Chinese Deputy Minister of Security Qi Yanjun to strengthen bilateral cooperation. The discussions centered on police training for citizen security, crime prevention, and investigation. Both nations expressed a commitment to enhancing technological capabilities to combat terrorism, drug trafficking, money laundering, and cybercrime.
Nicaraguan representatives emphasized that international police unity is essential for addressing transnational threats, including organized crime, human trafficking, and internet-based scams.
