The Embassy of Nicaragua in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) held commemorations on August 21, 2026, to mark the 47th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

As part of the activities, Nicaraguan representatives visited the birthplace of Kim Il Sung to pay tribute and lay a floral offering on behalf of Nicaraguan Co-Presidents Daniel Ortega Saavedra and Rosario Murillo Zambrana. The visit included a tour of the Memorial Museum and the site of a tree planted by Ortega and Murillo during a 1986 visit.

Additionally, the Nicaraguan diplomatic mission presented a congratulatory message to DPRK President Kim Jong Un to celebrate the nearly five decades of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
