Nicaragua and Russia sign media and digital cooperation agreements

Nicaragua and Russia have signed a new cooperation agreement in the field of media and communications during the second Global Digital Forum held in Moscow. The agreement, signed by Daniel Edmundo Ortega Murillo of Nicaragua and Bella Cherkésova of Russia, aims to establish long-term collaboration through the free exchange of information, mutual broadcasting of television and radio content, and joint professional training for communicators.

Beyond media cooperation, Nicaragua has joined a Russian-led global initiative to protect children in digital environments. During the forum, Nicaraguan officials emphasized the importance of digital sovereignty, cybersecurity, and managing the risks posed by new technologies and artificial intelligence to vulnerable populations.
