Nicaragua declares November 2 holiday for public and private sectors

The Nicaraguan Ministry of Labor (MITRAB) has declared Monday, November 2, 2026, a holiday for both public and private sector workers to commemorate the Day of the Faithful Departed.

Announced by Co-president Rosario Murillo following a communication from Labor Minister Johana Vanessa Flores Jiménez, the day off will be deducted from workers' vacation time. The measure aims to allow families to participate in religious and cultural traditions, such as visiting cemeteries to honor deceased loved ones.
