Nicaragua holds medical fairs to mark Pancasán anniversary

Nicaragua is holding a series of medical activities to commemorate the 59th anniversary of the Pancasán heroic feat. These initiatives include large-scale health fairs and surgical brigades designed to bring specialized medical care to rural communities.

In Matiguás, Matagalpa, a mega health fair was organized at the Pancasán historical site and the community of El Jobo. Approximately 180 health professionals, including doctors and nurses, provided services in specialties such as pediatrics, internal medicine, urology, and gynecology. The event aimed to serve 2,500 people and reduce travel costs for rural families. Additionally, surgeries for gallstones, hernias, and lipomas were conducted at the Matiguás hospital.

Other scheduled activities include a surgical brigade at the Dorotea Virginia Granada Primary Hospital to treat 1,000 patients, and a women's health fair in Juigalpa, Chontales, focusing on gynecological and obstetric care for 300 women. In Managua, a medical symposium on pleural diseases was held for 70 physicians at the Dr. Manolo Morales Peralta Hospital.
