Nicaragua joins women diplomats in Xinjiang for development exchange

The Nicaraguan diplomatic mission in China participated in the “A Closer Look at Xinjiang for Women Diplomats” initiative, held from October 12 to 15, 2026. Organized by the All-China Women's Federation, the event brought together 69 women diplomats from 26 countries to observe agricultural development, rural revitalization, female entrepreneurship, and community welfare in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.

During the visit, delegates engaged with local authorities and attended sessions led by Lin Yi, Vice President of the All-China Women's Federation, regarding the role of women in the economic and social transformation of rural communities. The program included visits to reforestation projects, agricultural cooperatives, and female-led enterprises in the Aksu Prefecture. In Ürümqi, the capital of Xinjiang, participants explored historical and cultural sites as well as developments in the cotton, textile, and commercial industries.
