Nicaragua launches specialized health fairs and medical training
Nicaragua is conducting several specialized health initiatives aimed at cancer detection and medical training. In Masaya, an oncology fair at the Hospital Departamental Comandante Hilario Sánchez Vásquez is providing 300 patients with services including gynecological oncology, surgical oncology, colonoscopies, endoscopies, biopsies, mammographies, and ultrasounds.
In Granada, a women's health fair is expected to serve over 2,000 women. This event involves 118 specialists providing services such as breast and cervical cancer screenings, high-risk pregnancy assessments, fetal malformation detection, and pelvic ultrasounds across several health units, including the Hospital Primario Monte Carmelo and Hospital Amistad Japón Nicaragua.
Additionally, in Bilwi, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) organized specialized training for 40 healthcare workers. The workshop focused on managing adverse reactions to tuberculosis medications, ensuring staff can identify side effects early and provide timely clinical responses during patient treatment.
