Nicaragua to host evangelical celebrations for Bible anniversary

Evangelical communities in Nicaragua will gather in Managua to celebrate the 457th anniversary of the Bible's translation into Spanish. The festivities include a national service titled ‘Tiempos de Dios, Triunfó la Paz y la Unidad’ scheduled for Saturday, September 26, at Plaza La Biblia.

The event will feature international guest Belén Losa, a Spanish singer, songwriter, and pastor, alongside the Ministerio Ríos de Agua Viva. The gathering aims to unite representatives from more than 160 evangelical denominations.

The celebrations coincide with Nicaragua's National Bible Day, which is officially observed on the last Sunday of September per a 2002 legislative decree. While the national day is a local observance, the weekend also commemorates the historical 1569 publication of the ‘Biblia del Oso’ by Casiodoro de Reina and its subsequent revision by Cipriano de Valera.
