Nicaraguan Army conducts leadership transition in Bilwi

The Northern Military Detachment of the Nicaraguan Army held a formal command transition ceremony in Bilwi, Puerto Cabezas. The event was presided over by General Julio César Avilés Castillo, Commander in Chief of the Nicaraguan Army.

During the ceremony, Colonel Guillermo Eliut Ramírez López handed over command of the Northern Military Detachment to Lieutenant Colonel Carlos Humberto Meza Morales. Additionally, Lieutenant Colonel Álvaro López Bayadares assumed the role of Chief of Staff for the detachment.

The transition is described as part of a normal rotation of officers. The ceremony was attended by regional and municipal authorities from the North Caribbean Coast Autonomous Region, including representatives from the regional government and the FSLN, as well as members of the military high command.
