Nicaraguan government recognizes support from Latter-day Saints

The Nicaraguan government has recognized the long-standing social and community support provided by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Vice President Rosario Murillo highlighted the congregation's contributions to hospitals, health centers, and educational institutions throughout the country.

Government officials, including Co-Chancellor Valdrack Jaentschke, recently visited the newly constructed Managua Temple, known as the ‘House of the Lord’. Jaentschke stated that the facility demonstrates Nicaragua is an open and receptive nation where faith can be expressed with freedom and without restrictions.

The temple will host an open house from September 10 to September 26, allowing the public to visit the facilities regardless of religious affiliation. The official consecration ceremony is scheduled for October 18. There are approximately 104,000 members of the Church in Nicaragua, organized across more than one hundred chapels.
