Nicaraguan Ministry of Interior officials complete academic training with entrepreneurship projects
Approximately 700 public servants from Nicaragua’s Ministry of the Interior are participating in an educational program aimed at combining academic knowledge with vocational skills. The participants, who include staff from the General Directorate of Firefighters, Migration and Foreigners, and the Penitentiary System, are working toward completing their high school diplomas by 2026.
As part of this curriculum transformation, students are presenting entrepreneurship projects to apply their classroom learning to practical scenarios. One notable example is ‘De la Manguera al Estanque,’ a project from the Nueva Segovia Fire Department involving the construction of fish ponds. Delfina Espinoza, Director of Secondary Education for Youth and Adults at the Ministry of Education, stated that the strategy seeks to complement scientific knowledge with vocational dexterity and practical skills.
