Nicaragua housing fair attracts 15,000 visitors and 560 mortgage pre-approvals

The Eighth National Housing Fair concluded at the Olof Palme Convention Center with over 15,000 visitors. The event brought together families, banks, insurers, real estate brokers, and construction material providers to explore housing options and financing alternatives.

According to Gabriela Palacios, co-director of the Nicaraguan Institute of Urban and Rural Housing (INVUR), the fair facilitated significant interest in government-led housing programs. More than 2,300 people applied to the 'Nuevas Victorias' project, including 282 planned homes for Granada, while over 1,500 families processed entries for the 'Bismarck Martínez' Program.

In the financial sector, commercial banks pre-approved more than 560 mortgage loans during the event, indicating the creditworthiness and economic stability of the applicants. The fair also highlighted benefits such as interest rate subsidies and tax exemptions for specific housing projects.
