Niccolò Paoloni appointed president of Asm Terni

Stefano Bandecchi, the Mayor of Terni, has appointed Niccolò Paoloni as the new president of Asm Terni, a multi-service company partially owned by the municipality and Acea. Paoloni, a 38-year-old associate professor of business economics at Roma Tre University and a certified public accountant, was selected following a public call for curricula.

The appointment follows the departure of Sergio Cardinali, who returned to his role as a municipal councilor for economic development. Cardinali’s previous presidency had drawn scrutiny from the National Anti-Corruption Authority regarding the compatibility of holding a political office and leading a public-participation company.

Mayor Bandecchi described the choice as a “sharp break” from local and regional dynamics that he claimed did not serve the interests of the company or the city. He expressed high esteem for Paoloni, noting that the professor’s professional background represents a positive evolution for Asm.
