Nice Mayor Éric Ciotti to visit municipal equestrian police brigade

Éric Ciotti, the Mayor of Nice and President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, is scheduled to visit the municipal police equestrian brigade on Thursday, August 13, 2026. The unit, located at 10 Traverse des Baraques, is the largest equestrian brigade within a municipal police force in France.

Comprising 14 agents and seven horses, the brigade provides continuous coverage across the municipality, including parks, gardens, and coastal areas. Their primary responsibilities include general public space surveillance, citizen prevention through visible presence, and security during specific events. The unit has received the ‘Qualit’Équidés’ and ‘Cheval Territorial’ labels, recognizing their expertise and commitment to equine welfare.
