Nicholas Galitzine details intense training for He‑Man role in 'Masters of the Universe

Actor Nicholas Galitzine explained the rigorous preparation he underwent to portray He‑Man in the upcoming film Masters of the Universe, which opens in U.S. theaters on June 5. He said a team of professionals—including a trainer, nutritionist and chef—guided a roughly year‑long regimen of five months of intense physical preparation followed by five months of shooting. Galitzine described episodes of severe muscle soreness, dehydration and the difficulty of delivering emotional scenes while in peak physical condition. He noted that the transformation was so dramatic that he sometimes did not recognize himself in the mirror. Co‑star Camila Mendes praised Galitzine’s look and the project’s appeal to the queer community, which Galitzine said has offered overwhelming support.

The actor also referenced his previous work in LGBTQ‑themed films and expressed optimism that the film will resonate strongly with audiences, especially fans of the iconic He‑Man character.
