Nicholas Galitzine shapes up for He‑Man lead in Masters of the Universe
British actor Nicholas Galitzine is starring as Prince Adam/He‑Man in the upcoming live‑action film Masters of the Universe, which opens in German cinemas on 4 June 2026. At the Berlin premiere he discussed the role as a career milestone, noting his long‑standing desire to play a superhero.
To portray the iconic hero, Galitzine undertook a five‑month body transformation, consuming up to 5,000 calories daily and spending long hours in the gym. He also received fitness guidance from co‑star Taylor Zakhar Perez. The preparation involved intensive sword training, stunt work and rigorous strength conditioning, allowing Galitzine to shift from his previous romantic‑lead image to a muscular action lead.
The film, directed by Travis Knight, marks Galitzine’s first portrayal of a classic superhero in a large‑scale production, combining extensive set pieces, sword choreography and high‑octane action sequences.
