Nicholas Galitzine’s He‑Man Prep Involved 5,000‑Calorie Diet and Physical Transformation

Actor Nicholas Galitzine spoke about his preparation for the role of He‑Man in the new Masters of the Universe film. He described feeling insecure when first trying on the costume, saying he felt "like a fraud" and questioning whether the director would keep him. To meet the character’s muscular demands, Galitzine followed an intense regimen of three‑hour weight‑training sessions and a diet of roughly 5,000 calories per day, including unconventional combos such as pizza with sushi and hot dogs. He noted that after filming he quickly lost the bulk, which he found depressing. The actor also highlighted the emotional bond formed with the large crew over the two‑year development period and contrasted his preparation with that of Dolph Lundgren, who played He‑Man in the 1987 version.

These comments were reported in a Brazilian magazine and a Danish newspaper, both focusing on the actor’s physical and mental challenges while bringing the iconic hero to the screen.
