Gunther vs. Nick Aldis Officially Added to WWE SummerSlam 2026 Card

Triple H announced during the SummerSlam Kickoff Show in New York that Gunther will face Nick Aldis in a singles match at WWE SummerSlam 2026. The bout was made official after an altercation at Saturday Night’s Main Event, where Aldis struck Gunther with the Undisputed WWE Championship belt, costing Gunther and Sami Zayn a title opportunity. This will be Aldis' first WWE ring appearance since 2023.

The two‑night Premium Live Event is scheduled for August 1‑2, 2026, at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and will air live on ESPN Unlimited in the United States and on Netflix internationally. The announced card also includes Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship, CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship, Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi in a Hell in a Cell match, Penta vs. Chad Gable for the Intercontinental title, and Liv Morgan vs. IYO SKY for the Women’s World Championship.

A separate incident at the same Saturday Night’s Main Event saw a fan in the audience appear to give a Nazi salute during Gunther’s entrance, sparking online backlash but unrelated to the match lineup.
