Nick Chubb announces retirement from NFL after eight seasons

NFL running back Nick Chubb has announced his retirement after eight seasons. The 30-year-old, a four-time Pro Bowler, shared the news via Instagram, expressing a desire to end his career on a healthy note.

Chubb spent the majority of his career with the Cleveland Browns, where he was a standout performer, recording four consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons from 2019 to 2022. He finished his career with 7,349 rushing yards and 54 rushing touchdowns. His career was marked by significant resilience following two severe knee injuries, including a devastating injury in 2023 that sidelined him for much of the season.

Following his tenure in Cleveland, Chubb played the 2025 season with the Houston Texans. During that campaign, he recorded 506 rushing yards and three touchdowns in 15 games. He joins an elite group of running backs in NFL history to retire with over 1,000 carries while maintaining a career average of more than five yards per carry.
