Nick Chubb to retire as a Cleveland Brown with one-day contract
Nick Chubb is set to officially retire as a member of the Cleveland Browns. The organization announced that Chubb will return to Berea on Friday to sign a ceremonial one-day contract, allowing him to end his professional career with the franchise that drafted him in 2018.
Chubb spent seven seasons in Cleveland, where he became one of the most productive running backs in team history. He recorded 6,843 rushing yards and 51 rushing touchdowns during his tenure, ranking third in franchise history in both categories. His career also included four Pro Bowl selections.
After his time in Cleveland, Chubb played the 2025 season with the Houston Texans. Over his eight-year NFL career, he accumulated a total of 7,349 rushing yards, 1,109 receiving yards, and 59 total touchdowns across 100 games. While he will not play in Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers, he is expected to participate in pregame festivities as a Dawg Pound captain.
