Nick Marsh makes immediate impact for Indiana following Michigan State departure
Former Michigan State wide receiver Nick Marsh has made an immediate impact in his debut for Indiana University. During the Hoosiers' season opener against North Texas, Marsh caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from transfer quarterback Josh Hoover on Indiana's first possession to secure an early 7-0 lead.
Meanwhile, Michigan State is navigating a significant rebuilding phase in its wide receiver room following Marsh's departure. Wide receivers coach Courtney Hawkins noted that the unit is characterized by youth and inexperience, featuring eight freshmen and only two transfers from other Power Four programs, Frederick Moore and KK Smith. Hawkins highlighted Chrishon McCray as a key player expected to take on a larger role, emphasizing the need for improved route running and mechanics to compete in the Big Ten.
