Nick Saban documentary series to premiere on ESPN in October

ESPN and Words + Pictures have announced a six-part documentary series titled ‘Saban’ to chronicle the career and legacy of Hall of Fame coach Nick Saban. The series is scheduled to premiere on October 8, with the first episode, ‘The Process’, airing at 6 p.m. ET. All episodes will be available for streaming on the ESPN App at launch.

Directed by Russell Dinallo, the documentary utilizes hundreds of hours of previously unseen footage from locker rooms and practices to provide an intimate look at Saban’s coaching methods. The series will focus heavily on his 17-year tenure at the University of Alabama, where he secured six national championships, while also exploring his time at LSU, Michigan State, and with the Miami Dolphins.

The production features interviews with more than 70 individuals, including former players, coaches, and family members. Notable contributors include Bill Belichick, Lane Kiffin, Kirby Smart, Tim Tebow, Jalen Hurts, and Tua Tagovailoa. The series also includes reflections from Saban and his wife, Miss Terry Saban.
