Nick Valensi, Aziya, and Mr Hudson release new single ‘Scream Your Name’

Nick Valensi of The Strokes, producer Mr Hudson, and singer-songwriter Aziya have released ‘Scream Your Name,’ the second single from the newly launched record label Sick. The track is described as a melancholic, rhythmic journey featuring distorted guitar sounds.

Aziya characterized the song as an ‘ode to the push and pull of a relationship you absolutely shouldn’t be in,’ noting that she intended for the track to feel ‘ironically fun’ despite its themes of an unhealthy relationship. She compared the song’s progression to the ‘calm before the storm’ that intensifies until a relationship reaches a breaking point.

Founded by Carré Callaway (Queen Kwong), Darian Zahedi, and Nick Hinman, the Sick label focuses on fostering a community through collaborative singles without restrictive long-term contracts. The label’s first release, ‘PULS. zip,’ featured Lee Kiernan of IDLES and Tokyo-based artist RIS-707.
