Nicki Thiim criticizes DTM regulations after Nürburgring race

Aston Martin driver Nicki Thiim expressed intense frustration following a disappointing DTM race at the Nürburgring, where he finished in eleventh place. The result caused him to drop two positions in the championship standings, leaving him 30 points behind leader Maro Engel.

Thiim criticized the series' Balance of Performance (BoP) regulations, describing the situation as a “frechheit” (outrage) and suggesting the technical adjustments are inconsistent. He noted that while certain manufacturers receive advantages, others face significant disadvantages.

In response to these concerns, technical adjustments were made to several vehicles for the following race day. The Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo will see a weight reduction of ten kilograms and a slight increase in boost pressure. Other manufacturers, including BMW, Lamborghini, Mercedes-AMG, and McLaren, also received weight reductions or engine adjustments, while the winning Ferrari and the second-place Porsche remained unchanged.
