Nicko McBrain rejects golf invitation from Donald Trump

Nicko McBrain, the longtime drummer for the heavy metal band Iron Maiden, has revealed that he declined an invitation to play golf with U.S. President Donald Trump. In an interview with The Telegraph, McBrain stated that the offer was extended through a friend who is a staunch Republican.

While describing himself as not being particularly politically inclined, McBrain expressed strong criticisms of the Trump administration. He cited concerns regarding the president's personality, the controversy surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein files, and the conflict involving Iran. McBrain also directed sharp criticism toward U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, stating that both Trump and his associates “should be put in jail.”

The remarks come as McBrain promotes his upcoming autobiography, “Hello Boys and Girls!”, which is scheduled for release in late October 2026. McBrain, a longtime resident of Florida, retired from touring with Iron Maiden in late 2024 after 42 years with the band.
