Nicky Butt criticizes Lisandro Martínez over performance and conduct
Former Manchester United player Nicky Butt has launched a harsh critique of defender Lisandro Martínez, citing poor sporting performance, controversial attitudes, and off-field conduct.
Speaking on the program Piers Morgan Uncensored, Butt criticized Martínez for displaying a banner related to the Falkland Islands while playing for Argentina during the World Cup, noting that the player lives in the United Kingdom. Butt also addressed Martínez's recent disciplinary issues, specifically a red card received during a 2:0 loss to Chelsea, which Butt attributed to a lack of defensive strength.
Furthermore, Butt expressed frustration with Martínez's tendency to criticize club management regarding transfer policies despite his own declining form. The former midfielder suggested that Martínez's recent behavior and comments toward teammates and leadership are unacceptable for a professional player.
