Nico Collins ruled out for Texans Week 2 game against Bengals

Houston Texans star wide receiver Nico Collins has been ruled out for the team’s Week 2 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals due to a hamstring injury. Collins, a two-time Pro Bowler, suffered a Grade 1 hamstring strain during Wednesday’s practice. While the injury is not considered serious, he was unable to participate in Thursday or Friday practices.

The Texans face significant roster challenges heading into the game, as Collins joins wide receiver Jayden Higgins (ACL) and Tank Dell (knee) on the injury list. Other notable absences for Houston include defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (knee), offensive guard Ed Ingram (groin), and linebacker Jacob Hummel (groin).

In response to Collins’ absence, the Texans may look to practice squad players such as Mitchell Tinsley, Kayshon Boutte, or Xavier Hutchinson to bolster their receiving corps.
