Nico Hülkenberg secures eighth place in Singapore Grand Prix
Nico Hülkenberg secured an eighth-place finish at the Singapore Grand Prix, earning six points for Audi. The German driver delivered a strong performance, successfully defending his position against Mercedes driver George Russell during the closing stages of the race.
Hülkenberg, who qualified 11th, benefited from a grid penalty issued to Russell. Throughout the race, Hülkenberg maintained a consistent rhythm, utilizing slipstreams on the straights to defend against Russell’s pursuit. Hülkenberg described the successful defense as a “minor miracle,” noting that it required his full effort to hold off the faster Mercedes car on the street circuit.
George Russell praised Hülkenberg’s defensive driving, acknowledging that the risks involved in attempting an overtake in the final laps were too high given the difficulty of the maneuver.
