Nico Rosberg warns Mercedes of McLaren's rising pace

Nico Rosberg has warned that Mercedes may face a difficult end to the Formula 1 season following the rapid performance gains demonstrated by McLaren. The 2016 World Champion highlighted Lando Norris’s dominant performance at the Dutch Grand Prix, where Norris secured his second consecutive victory following his win in Hungary.

Rosberg noted a significant pace advantage for Norris, stating that the Briton was approximately seven to eight tenths of a second per lap faster than George Russell on hard tires in similar conditions. Rosberg emphasized that McLaren is currently the team to beat due to their ability to develop their car more quickly than their competitors.

While Norris remains 83 points behind championship leader Kimi Antonelli, his recent form has reignited discussions regarding his title prospects. Currently, Norris sits in fourth place in the standings with 159 points, trailing Lewis Hamilton by 24 points.
