Nico Schlotterbeck's future uncertain amid Real Madrid interest

The future of Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck has become uncertain as contract negotiations with the club have stalled. Despite efforts by Dortmund management to secure the 26-year-old German international with a new deal, the player has reportedly rejected the club's initial offer.

Real Madrid is closely monitoring the situation. The Spanish club views Schlotterbeck as a potential long-term solution for their defensive line, especially amidst expected changes to their backline next summer.

Borussia Dortmund is eager to resolve the matter quickly to avoid a scenario where the player leaves without the club being able to command a significant transfer fee. The coming weeks are expected to be critical in determining the defender's future.
