Nico Williams linked to PSG amid agent controversy

Athletic Club winger Nico Williams has become a primary target for Paris Saint-Germain following a serious knee injury to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The French club is reportedly considering Williams as a potential reinforcement for the January 2027 transfer market, with his release clause estimated at approximately 90 million euros.

The interest follows recent tension involving the Williams brothers and their agent, Félix Tainta. Iñaki Williams, the Athletic Club captain, publicly criticized Tainta regarding the timing and manner of his recent comments. Tainta had previously suggested in a podcast that Nico was ambitious and open to leaving the club, citing interest from major European sides such as Barcelona, Bayern Munich, PSG, Arsenal, and Liverpool.

Iñaki Williams stated that while they have spoken privately with the agent, the “moment and forms were not appropriate,” specifically noting that such matters should remain private and should not be discussed during the active season, especially given Nico's long-term commitment to the club.
