Nicolo Bulega breaks WorldSBK records with Estoril hat-trick

Nicolo Bulega achieved a hat-trick of victories at the Estoril Round of the 2026 WorldSBK championship, winning Race 1, the Superpole Race, and Race 2. This performance brought his season total to 29 victories, setting a new record for the most wins in a single campaign and surpassing previous benchmarks. Bulega also set a new lap record at the circuit during the Superpole session.

His teammate at Aruba.it Racing – Ducati, Iker Lecuona, secured second place in all three races of the weekend. Alberto Surra completed the podium in all three events, finishing third. The podium race was marked by a crash from Alvaro Bautista with five laps remaining, which allowed Surra to take the third position.

Yari Montella secured the 2026 Best Independent Rider Award following a fourth-place finish in Race 2. Local rider Miguel Oliveira finished eighth in Race 2 after a combative performance on his BMW.

With the penultimate round concluded, Bulega leads the championship with 664 points. The season will conclude at the Gran Premio de España in Jerez.
