Nicolò Tresoldi declines Italy call-up to remain with Germany

Club Brugge striker Nicolò Tresoldi has declined an immediate call-up to the Italian national team, opting to delay his decision regarding his international future. Despite previously indicating a willingness to represent Italy, the 21-year-old has decided to remain with the German youth setups for the time being.

Tresoldi, who has represented Germany at the youth level, was reportedly approached personally by Italian coach Roberto Mancini to encourage his switch to the Squadra Azzurra. However, following Club Brugge’s Champions League match against Aston Villa, the player informed officials that he is not yet ready to commit to Italy. He intends to continue his participation in the German U21 European Championship qualifying campaign before making a final determination between Germany and Italy.
