Nicola Ceravolo Stadium redevelopment remains on schedule

Mayor Nicola Fiorita has addressed concerns regarding the redevelopment of the Nicola Ceravolo Stadium, confirming that construction is proceeding according to the established schedule. He denied rumors of a work stoppage, clarifying that while some workers may not be visible on-site, assembly of steel beams for the grandstand roof and ordering of materials for the new West Curve are ongoing.

The project is being executed in three phases: the demolition of the old West Curve, the construction of the new curve, and the covering of the grandstand. The demolition phase was completed ahead of schedule. Fiorita also clarified that recent checks for unexploded ordnance, a standard procedure due to the stadium's former military use, have not uncovered any threats and will not halt compatible construction activities. The completion of the new West Curve is expected by October 30.
