General Nicola Massimo Masciulli appointed Director of DIA

Army General Nicola Massimo Masciulli has officially assumed his new role as the Director of the Direzione Investigativa Antimafia (DIA). A member of the Carabinieri, Masciulli brings extensive strategic and legal expertise to the position, holding a law degree from Sapienza University and advanced masters in strategic-military and strategic sciences.

Throughout his career, Masciulli has held several high-level command positions, including serving as the Commander of the Carabinieri Provincial Command of Venice and the Tuscany Legion. He also previously served as the Head of the Legislative Office for the Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto.

Prior to his appointment at the DIA, he commanded the Carabinieri 'Ogaden' Interregional Command in Naples, overseeing operations in Abruzzo, Molise, Basilicata, Puglia, and Campania. His transition to the DIA is intended to ensure continuity in the fight against mafia infiltration within Italy's social and economic sectors.
