Nicola Sturgeon claims J.K. Rowling is obsessed with her

Former Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has claimed that author J.K. Rowling is "obsessed" with her during an appearance at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The comments follow recent criticisms from Rowling, who described Sturgeon as a "world-class misogynist" and "profoundly disloyal" to the SNP in a post on X.

Sturgeon noted that she and Rowling disagree on multiple significant issues, including Scottish independence and trans rights. While Sturgeon stated she is not "at war" with the author, she remarked, "She seems to be at war with me," suggesting any amnesty would need to come from Rowling.

Sturgeon also addressed criticisms from former SNP MP Joanna Cherry KC. Describing a book written by Cherry that was critical of her leadership as "shit," Sturgeon claimed that Cherry's perceived obsession with her was not reciprocated.
