Nicola Zalewski’s future at Atalanta BC remains uncertain as the summer transfer window approaches its close. Despite providing an assist for Lazar Samardzić in Atalanta’s 1-0 victory over Bologna, the Polish player faces tactical challenges under new manager Maurizio Sarri.

Sarri’s preferred 4-3-3 formation has required Zalewski to play as a right winger rather than his traditional role as a wing-back. Journalist Giorgio Dusi noted that Zalewski is best suited for teams utilizing a three-man defense, suggesting AC Milan as a potential destination. Dusi stated, “I cannot say with 100 percent certainty that Zalewski will remain in Bergamo until the end of the transfer window,” highlighting that Atalanta is currently making several squad adjustments.

While Zalewski has started recent matches, his position may be threatened by the return of Charles De Ketelaere from injury. If he remains at the club, he will likely need to adapt to new tactical roles within Sarri’s system.
