Nicolae Mitea discusses loss of career earnings

Former Romanian footballer Nicolae Mitea has revealed that his career earnings, which totaled approximately 2 million euros, have been exhausted through investments and personal expenditures. During his tenure at Ajax Amsterdam, Mitea earned monthly salaries of up to 80,000 euros, playing alongside prominent figures such as Zlatan Ibrahimović and Wesley Sneijder.

Medical issues and injuries significantly impacted his professional progression, leading to his retirement in 2014 at the age of 28. Mitea noted that while one million euros was directed toward investments, the remainder was spent over the years. He currently works as a youth coach at the Barca Academy in Romania, earning a monthly salary of approximately 5,000 lei.
